Family Day

Pride in the Park: Family Day is about bringing the community together in a simple, welcoming way. It gives families, kids, and neighbors a chance to connect, have fun, and show support in a relaxed, public space. It also matters for visibility—especially for young people. Seeing a community come together sends a clear message that everyone belongs.

WHAT IS “PRIDE IN THE PARK: FAMILY DAY”:

Pride in the Park: Family Day is about bringing the community together in a simple, welcoming way. It gives families, kids, and neighbors a chance to connect, have fun, and show support in a relaxed, public space. It also matters for visibility—especially for young people. Seeing a community come together sends a clear message that everyone belongs. At the end of the day, it’s just about creating a positive, inclusive space where people can enjoy each other and feel supported.

WHAT DOES THE EVENT LOOK LIKE

Family Day begins at 12 PM, with amplified sound starting at 1 PM to allow our church neighbors to finish services without disruption. The event features more than 35 vendors offering everything from crafts and local business to charities, food trucks, healthcare resources, and activities for all ages.

Our stage includes a lively drag emcee who keeps the energy up while introducing a variety of performances throughout the day. We also host community art projects and fundraising efforts that support both the city and Pride-sponsored charities.

One of the highlights at the event is our dunk tank, where local government officials volunteer to get soaked for a good cause—raising over $800 at last year’s event alone.

The Dunedin Chamber of Commerce will also be on-site sponsoring a downtown scavenger hunt with prizes for the winners. This fun activity will get participants moving, exploring downtown, and discovering all it has to offer.

WHO ARE OUR CHARITIES & WHY DID WE PICKED THEM

Our charities reflect the full journey of LGBTQIA+ life—from beginning to end—while supporting and representing all people in our community.

This year, we’re proud to partner with PFLAG Safety Harbor, an organization dedicated to supporting parents, families, and friends of LGBTQ+ individuals, helping build understanding and providing a vital network of connection and support.

We have also partnered with ICG Foundation which is a non-profit sponsored by the Inclusive Care Group. Their core values are: Compassionate Care. Real Support. Health for All. They perform FREE HIV & STI testing, giving people their status in a safe, supportive environment. They also help eligible individuals pay insurance premiums so they can keep access to doctors, medications, and essential care without interruption. Through their direct care fund, those individuals with medical expense hardships can receive affirming care. Lastly they provide a Bridge RX grant, in partnership with Bell Pharmacy, where they help cover medication costs for uninsured or underinsured patients, supporting consistent treatment and better health outcomes.

The final sponsored charity is LGBTQIA+ Eldercare Initiative a partnership with Better Living for Seniors (BLS) Pinellas County. The LGBTQIA+ Eldercare Initiative is a collaborative effort focused on improving the quality of life, access to care, and dignity of LGBTQIA+ older adults in Pinellas County, the program works to bridge gaps between senior service providers and the LGBTQIA+ community—ensuring that aging individuals receive inclusive, affirming, and culturally competent care.

Our charities are nominated by Dunedin Pride, Inc. volunteers. We invite those organizations to complete an application, and the Board of Directors then carefully reviews and votes on the final selections.

We’re thrilled to have three outstanding charities joining us for Dunedin Pride 2026!
